Annapolis Bike to Work Day - May 18
This Friday is Annapolis Bike to Work Day. This event increases awareness of bikes and bike safety while encouraging residents to take part in a "greener" commute. Join Annapolis Regional Transportation Management Association (ARTMA), the Annapolis Department of Transportation and the Baltimore Metropolitan Council for refreshments, giveaways, and more on Friday, May 18 from 7 to 8:45 a.m. at the Annapolis City dock. The event is one of the biggest in the region with 300 riders expected.
Meanwhile, May is National Bike Month and Clean Air Month. With our region's major traffic congestion and air pollution problems, one way to relieve these problems is to turn car commuters into bike commuters, especially for short commutes of five miles or less. The Bike 2 Work Day rally is a great way to promote the benefits of bicycling.

Mayor Josh Cohen is a Mayor of Verona (for one night only!)
Mayor Josh Cohen has been elected the Mayor of Verona for the term of one night only! Yes, during the Annapolis Opera's season highlight and finale of Romeo and Juliet, Mayor Cohen will share the stage with critically hailed American tenor Michael Wade Lee and rising star Megan Hart, who will make her professional opera debut in the role of Juliet. Andrew Garland, Eugenie Grunewald, Rolando Sanz, Karin Mushegain, Jimi James, Andrew Sauvageau, and 2011's Figaro, Liam Moran, round out the stellar cast. Mayor Cohen will take the stage on Friday May 18 at 8:00 p.m. The Mayor of Verona will be played by Alderman Ross Arnett on Sunday May 20th at 3 p.m
